How long have you enjoyed a plant based diet? 6 years in October
How did you transition into a healthier lifestyle? I initially cut out pork from my diet then all meat in 2010 as a vegetarian. Continued my vegetarian journey for about a year and a half before becoming a pescetarian for about 5 months, excluding all shellfish. Transitioned back into a vegetarian lifestyle for close to a complete month before becoming ill, which prompted me to go fully vegan in June of 2012. I have been a proud and happy vegan ever since ^__^
What’s your favorite cruelty free dish? It’s a tie between shiro wot (Ethiopian dish) and my loaded vegan nachos.. I’m a fatty lol
Any tips for other vegan viXens in progress?
1. Practice patience with your process! Healthy eating/living is a marathon not a sprint and at the same time it’s neither because you really shouldn’t be in competition with anyone but yourself.
2. Also, never skip the research. You will constantly have people telling you what you’re lacking or what they think you need, but when you’re armed with information you can make up your own mind more readily without having to convince anyone else that you’re doing the right thing for YOU…which leads me to my final tip:
3. Abstain from being a VeganNazi at all cost. It’s a normal phase because of the excitement you feel about embarking upon a new lifestyle that makes you feel great, but shoving it down others throats just makes them think you’re crazy on top of being malnourished. Love on yourself more and others will take notice. I promise.
